Best 6X9 Component Speakers Reviews

Few things in life are as important as good music. But as you’ve probably noticed, that music only sounds as good as the system it’s playing through. Many cars and trucks don’t come with quality speakers. And that’s to say nothing of the factory-speakers found in most vehicles.

Even if you’re on a tight budget, a cheap set of aftermarket speakers can noticeably improve your listening experience. However, if you’re a serious audiophile looking for speakers that can make a night and day difference, then component speakers are for you.

We’ve reviewed a few component speakers on this site before. Now, let’s take a closer look at some of the best 6X9 component speakers that you can buy.

Infinity KAPPA-90CSX 6X9 Component SpeakersWhen you want to take your car speakers to new heights in sound quality and don’t mind shelling out some serious dough, your best bet is a pair of Infinity KAPPA 90CSX speakers. These are some of the best 6X9 component speakers that Infinity have to offer, all things considered.

Infinity has a certain reputation for high-priced speakers that can easily fill a room with swelling sound. In this particular case, that reputation is well deserved.

These Kappa 6″X9″ component speakers can hit as low as 35Hz and as high as 35Khz. They’re very well-built to say the least, featuring a refined design, Infinity’s proprietary technology, and premium materials to deliver uncompromised audio quality.

Speaking of sound quality, these speakers feature edge-driven, soft dome tweeters which deliver smoother, stunning highs to complement their refined, punchy bass.

Speaking of which, these babies are featured with Kappa’s glass fiber woofers which can hold their shapes when the power’s cranked up, so you still get punchy and defined bass even at high volumes. And as you might already know, Glass fiber weighs a lot less than traditional materials, so you won’t need a ton of power to make these woofers sound great.

Furthermore, these woofers were designed with Infinity Plus one woofer technology which extends the cone right up to the edge of the basket, giving you lots of surface area — and a bigger cone means more bass to complement the superior high-frequency response.

The Infinity Kappa 90csx speakers are quite efficient. They boast a very high sensitivity rating of 94dB and can handle up to 135 of power on continuous basis. That’s just insane.

Once installed, you’ll get to enjoy a more clearly defined soundstage and marvel as your music seems to come alive across your dash.

The only downside we can reasonably think of is the price. These speakers are quite expensive compared to most speakers we listed here.

JBL equipped these speakers with UV-resistant polypropylene woofers for stellar performance even under the stickiest (or harshest) environmental conditions — after all, car speakers’ mounting locations aren’t the most forgiving place to reside for the most part.

They can deliver a clear, open midrange and a surprising amount of bass via the 6″x9″ Plus One+ polypropylene woofers supported with hi-roll rubber surround which delivers surprisingly strong performance.

Once installed, these speakers will give you a huge bump in sound quality. The bass on these speakers is overpowering at times, but overall, sound is well-detailed and much better than your muddy-sounding factory installed speakers.

Kicker 40CSS694 are some of the best 6X9 component speakers under $100. These speakers can handle an outrageous amount of power on continuous basis — 150 watts RMS — and are quite efficient; they’re rated for 90 dB sensitivity rating.

With all of that being said, these 6X9 component speakers from Kicker will do quite well when paired up to an aftermarket stereo but they’ll truly shine when driven by an external amp.

As for cons, It’s really difficult to think of any. If anything, I’d say that you must have an amp so you can get the best out of these babies.
